Abstract

This paper has the following themes: Formation, Work and Alternation in the Institute Educar. This analysis is an attempt to deepen the understanding of the role of this schooling institution in the life of the students that pass through the school, in order to deepen processes of work in the formation of girls and boys that switch between work and study (house and school). In the school the students engage in both work and study so that they can become professionals, but their political formation is also guaranteed. The author attempts to identify the possible conflicts between theory and practice in the advance of this formative process. The paper also analyzes the dayto- day life of the students and the teachers in order to understand the role of the school in the life of these students, in the immediate formation and the alternation that these youth are part of over these three years, in manual work and in study. The different interviews conducted during the process of completing this paper were pillars in the theoretical construction of the analysis, because the interviews allowed for an understanding of the context of this school. The methodology used in this research was a qualitative with the following elements: interviews, observations, field work, observation of classes, participation in student’s manual work, analysis of documents and the course plan for the school. Finally, this paper proposes that the conception of human begins and society are in constant transformation and, starting with people and their real contexts, the paper analysis how to form subjects that are constructors of their own history, which is the basic necessity of the organization of work in this course. In the form that the students contribute, they are actually part of the self-sufficiency of the institution, as well as the movement itself as professionals and militants, without maintaining a hierarchy of different forms of work.
