Adenocarcinoma pancreático hialinizante associado à síndrome PPP em cão: relato de caso

Abstract

Exocrine pancreas neoplasms are rare in dogs and cats, carcinoma been the most common. Pancreatic adenocarcinoma has aggressive biologic behavior and usually is broadly disseminated on diagnostic. In most cases has a subclinical manifestation. The hyalinizing histological subtype has recently been described and seems to have a lower propensity for development of early metastasis and is associated with greater survival period. The extra visceral manifestations of pancreatic diseases were widely known in human medicine, especially those associated with panniculitis, which are presents in less than 3% of cases. Least frequently also occur the association with polyarthritis, actually defined in literature as PPP-syndrome, which appears in least than 1% of human patients. In veterinary medicine, very few reports have been associated pancreatic disorders, inflammatory or neoplastic, with these systemic manifestations. In this paper is presented a case of hyalinizing pancreatic adenocarcinoma as source of fat necrosis leading to panniculitis and polyarthritis.
