Histiocitose reativa cutânea em um cão – relato de caso

Abstract

Canine histiocytic proliferative disorders include reactive diseases such as cutaneous and systemic histiocytosis; and neoplastic diseases: cutaneous histiocytoma and localized and disseminated histiocytic sarcoma (malignant histiocytosis). Canine cutaneous histiocytosis is of unknown etiology and pathogenesis, but it is known that the skin and subcutaneous tissue are the target organs of this disease. This work describes a case of cutaneous reactive histiocytosis in a dog. The clinical picture was characterized by several nodules of different sizes throughout the body, without the presence of pruritus, as well as ulcerated nodular lesion in the snout, these with pruritus. The definitive diagnosis of the disease was made by obtaining a skin biopsy sample. The aim of the present study is to demonstrate the difficulty in diagnosing this disease, as well as exposing the difficulty faced in the treatment outcomes of dermatological diseases in our patients and the importance of skin biopsy and histopathological examination in the definitive diagnosis.
