A obra de Margaret Mee e sua analogia na criação de estampas para lenços femininos
Abstract
A presente monografia tem como objetivo o desenvolvimento de estampas para lenços
femininos utilizando como referência flores documentadas pela Ilustradora Botânica
Margaret Mee. A flora é amplamente utilizada como fonte de referência na criação de
estampas para o design têxtil e atualmente o mercado oferece uma ampla gama de
produtos e superfícies retratando esse tema, que apesar de serem comumente
encontrados, são representados, na maioria das vezes de maneira figurativa. O objetivo
desta pesquisa é explorar, justamente, a analogia da imagem com técnicas manuais na
tentativa de se distanciar da representação figurativa da natureza e provocar um novo
olhar sobre a mesma. Partindo do anseio de propor algo diferente, fora da figuração e da
imagem reproduzida, objetivando provocar o público a desenvolver um olhar mais
interpretativo e menos rígido através da aplicação das criações a uma coleção de lenços
femininos. Hoje com os avanços tecnológicos, as possibilidades de tratamentos na
superfície têxtil são inúmeras. Pode-se trabalhar o desenho na superfície bidimensional,
bem como explorar texturas visuais, profundidade, entre outras técnicas. Este projeto
tem foco no processo criativo para o desenvolvimento do design de superfície têxtil, uma
área em que, cada vez mais, os recursos digitais se sobressaem sobre as habilidades
manuais e na qual os profissionais utilizam, gradativamente, elementos prontos e
referenciais já existentes abrindo mão do processo genuíno de criação. Para execução e
desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, optou-se pela impressão a partir da sublimação,
devido à fidelidade na impressão das cores e por ser um processo com baixo índice de
poluição ambiental e desperdício material.
