O desenvolvinto estratégico-tático do PCB e luta do proletariado na abertura política (1978-1985)

Abstract

The present text consists of the Undergraduate Thesis (TCG) of the History Teaching program at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), entitled "Strategic-Tactical Development of the PCB and the Struggle for Proletarian Unity in the Political Opening (1978-1985)." In this work, we aim to analyze the context and determinants of the significant loss of political influence of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) during a period that coincides with the foundation, consolidation, and rise of the Workers' Party (PT) as the hegemonic force in the Brazilian Labor Movement. To achieve this, it was crucial to understand the perspective that the PCB had regarding the PT and how the communists differed in terms of political line, strategy, and tactics. In this process, we conclude that the decrease in the Party's insertion within the proletariat is directly related to the development of the Democratic-National Strategy of the revolution, which led it to the tactic of unconditional defense of unity, questioned by the rising Trade Union Movement. Meanwhile, the PT emerges in this context, seeking legitimacy in combative unionism and prioritizing the immediate demands of the brazilian proletariat. In our research, we employed historical-dialectical materialism as a tool to explore the totality and understand the mutual relationship between the historical agents studied, as well as their connections with the brazilian and global historical context.
