The act of eating is an intrinsic and physiological human being need, that has
developed and changed till become a social convention. On the basis of an analysis of
data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and from the
Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (ABRASEL) it was found that women
represent 52% of the labor force in establishments of the food and drink sector in Brazil.
The research objective is to have comprehension about the profile of women who work
in the food and drink sector from the gender optic, specifically at restaurants that have
public service and open at night in the neighborhood Camobi, in the city of Santa
Maria/RS. The methodology used was the exploratory feature, quantitative and
qualitative, by the use of bibliographic review and using online questionnaires by the
Google Forms platform, with 38 open and closed questions. This study obtained the
participation of 20 respondents and as regards the results, stand out: the majority of
white women, the low pay and the fact that 90% of them don’t have technical
capacitation or formation in the area of management and/or food and drink. As results
are expected the research brings more comprehension about the profile of women who
work in the sector, more information about the organizations of working environment,
as well as helps to demonstrate the importance of this topic and the need to further the
academic and professional discussion of tourism.

Astroturismo no planetário da UFSM: análise da experiência dos visitantes

Astrotourism is an activity of contemplation of the night sky and observation of
celestial bodies, which includes planets, asteroids, stars, comets, eclipses, nebulae,
galaxies and various phenomena. Some of the most common astrotourism products
include sky observation, visits to observatories and planetariums, astronomical parks,
specialized accommodations that offer astronomy-related activities, and events
organized with the aim of observing different celestial phenomena in the sky. The
main objective of this research was to analyze the profile of the visiting public of the
UFSM Planetarium. The methodology used is qualitative/quantitative, exploratory in
nature, encompassing bibliographic research related to the main theme and
application of on-site questionnaires with the target audience and availability of an
online form, both computed on the google forms platform. The study was conducted
from June to October 2023, obtaining 264 responses, without identifying the
respondents. The following stand out: public in the age group of 18 to 39 years;
visitors residing in the municipality of Santa Maria; they were already aware of the
planetarium; frequency of visitation in the range of 1 to 2 times; consider astronomy
to be very important; more than half have already participated in a summit session
and evaluated the experience and the Planetarium as excellent; Most recommend
visiting and experiencing. The study demonstrated the potential for the development
of more research in the academic field on the subject of astrotourism

Tourism communication is an important element in the aspects that involve the good
dissemination of a tourist destination. The organization of a planned, structured, continuous
communication for a tourism product is crucial for greater visibility of the mix of attractions of
a locality. In this sense, the present work consists of analyzing the importance of tourist
communication in the dissemination of the attractions of the municipality of Toropi/RS, a
municipality located in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The adopted
methodology was qualitative, starting from a bibliographic review, in the second stage an on site visit to the tourist attractions of the municipality; in the third stage, the application of a
questionnaire via the google forms platform to the municipality's community; in the fourth
stage, an interview was carried out with representatives of the municipality's tourism
department and subsequent analysis of the information. As a result, in relation to the
dissemination of the attractions of the municipality of Toropi/RS, it was verified that some
communication strategies are used, however it is perceived the need to expand them in relation
to the dissemination of local tourist attractions; improvement of tourist signs; greater incentive
of public policies for the promotion of local tourism.

This study deals with menus in restaurants in the municipality of Silveira Martins - RS.
Its general objective is to analyze the menus of the restaurants in the municipality of
Silveira Martins - RS and in relation to the identity culture inherited from the
descendants of Italian immigrants in the territory and as specific objectives, to carry
out a survey of data and information about the restaurants of Silveira Martins in order
to identify which restaurants have tourists as their main target audience and present
the main distinctive and identity elements of the original cuisine present on the menus.
Regarding the methodology, this study is characterized as a qualitative research,
whose data collection was bibliographical, documental and in the field of the object of
study. As a result, it was found that two restaurants have their main target aimed at
serving tourists. Finally, it became evident that, in restaurants “A” and “B”, the menus
are influenced by the cuisine inherited from Italian immigrants in the territory, but they
still do not make a reference that stands out as something distinctive of the Quarta
Colônia and its typical dishes, which could be better worked among managers
