A disciplina de Sistemas de Integração Agropecuária, é uma disciplina aplicada, que procura discutir os conceitos e como integrá-los com suas aplicações práticas. Os objetivos gerais da disciplina podem ser sintetizados em propor sistemas sustentáveis de produção integrados, compatíveis com a realidade do produtor e de sua comunidade local e regional; planejar a propriedade rural para a utilização racional dos recursos ambientais; propor alternativas de cultivos e criações, visando à redefinição da unidade produtiva, considerando suas potencialidades socioeconômicas e ambientais. O conteúdo programático é composto de caracterização dos agroecossistemas e das vantagens ecológicas e competitivas dos sistemas integrados; da contextualização de alternativas de sistemas de produção animal e do manejo de solos, plantas e água nos sistemas produtivos. A economia e os aspectos sociais da integração serão desenvolvidos baseados nos modelos de manejo de culturas e produção animal vigentes, bem como das alternativas que melhor se adaptem a cada microrregião.
