Regra de Taylor: uma análise empírica para o Brasil (2003 – 2017)
Abstract
Esta monografia tem por objetivo verificar se houve mudança na condução da
política monetária brasileira por parte do Banco Central do Brasil durante o governo
de Dilma Rousseff. Para tal, foram estimadas três funções de reação do Banco
Central para o período correspondente de janeiro de 2003 a junho de 2017, tendo
como base a especificação da Regra de Taylor proposta por Barbosa, Camêlo e
João (2016). Para verificar a ocorrência de mudanças nos pesos relativos do hiato
dos preços e do hiato do produto sobre a determinação da taxa de juros durante o
período de interesse, foram utilizadas variáveis dummies. Os dados utilizados nas
estimações são disponibilizados pelo Banco Central do Brasil. Os resultados
observados sugerem que houve um aumento do peso relativo do hiato do produto e
uma diminuição do peso relativo do hiato dos preços, com o Banco Central dando
mais ênfase às variações na atividade econômica e ao nível de emprego que às
variações nas expectativas para a inflação e ao nível de preços.
