A história de vida de J.: a aquisição da língua de sinais em período tardio
Abstract
Este artigo de Conclusão de Curso apresenta a história de vida de J., um menino
surdo que conheceu a Língua de Sinais somente aos oito anos, e que, até então, não
possuía diagnóstico no que tange à surdez. Neste contexto, o objetivo principal desta
pesquisa denota a construção da identidade surda através da Língua Brasileira de
Sinais (LIBRAS), trazendo à tona a problemática em torno do desenvolvimento da
aprendizagem de J., em ambiente educacional regular, entretanto, valorizando a
subsequência vivenciada por ele em termos de superação, que, por sua vez,
conseguiu ascensão em seu desenvolvimento cognitivo, psicológico e social. O
procedimento metodológico escolhido para este trabalho foi o Estudo de Caso, o qual
supre as necessidades fundamentais para a compreensão da história de vida do
protagonista deste trabalho, e como se deram suas vivências e porquê apresentamse
tão importantes para o seu progresso. A abordagem escolhida foi a qualitativa
descritiva, tendo em vista que esta examina fatos, buscando identificá-los e interpretálos,
analisando e descrevendo os dados coletados de maneira fundamentada. Por fim,
como instrumento de investigação, foi realizada uma entrevista semiestruturada com
duas pessoas que percorreram este caminho com J.: sua mãe adotiva e sua
professora da Escola Estadual de Educação Especial Dr. Reinaldo Fernando Cóser.
Desta forma, correlacionando a sua trajetória com a importância da Cultura Surda para
com a construção de identidade do indivíduo surdo, a fim de contribuir para que esta
e tantas outras crianças tenham a oportunidade de interagir/contribuir com a Cultura
Ouvinte.
