Método de redução de efeitos de artefatos metálicos em imagens de tomografia de baixa radiação
Abstract
As tomografias computadorizadas apesar de terem apresentado um imenso salto desde sua
criação até os dias de hoje ainda apresentam algumas falhas que impossibilitam, muitas
vezes um diagnóstico preciso, uma delas, é o aparecimento de efeitos causados por artefatos
metálicos. Ao entrar em contato com o metal, os raios X são atenuados, resultando em
uma discrepância entre a imagem e a realidade anatômica. Sabe-se que a alta dosagem
de raios X evita o surgimento desses efeitos, mas que em contrapartida é um tida como
um dos principais contribuintes para o risco de câncer. Sendo assim, este trabalho visa
desenvolver um método de redução de efeitos de artefatos metálicos em imagens de tomografia
de baixa radiação de modo a auxiliar os especialistas a obter um diagnóstico mais
preciso. Utilizando imagens de tomografia de baixa radiação e técnicas de processamento
de imagens, este trabalho obteve uma média de 90% de aprovação em uma avaliação feita
com cinco imagens por quatro especialistas em radiologia, diminuindo ou removendo, em
alguns casos, totalmente os efeitos causados pelos artefatos.
