Vivências da maternidade em casos de toxoplasmose gestacional e pós-natal: um estudo longitudinal
Abstract
No ano de 2018, a cidade de Santa Maria/RS foi acometida por um surto que desencadeou um
número significativo de casos de toxoplasmose gestacional, congênita e pós-natal, com riscos
de intercorrências orgânicas para o desenvolvimento infantil que podem impactar o bem-estar
fisiológico e emocional da díade mãe-bebê. Este estudo buscou compreender como se
desenvolveu o exercício da maternagem de mães de filhos cujo início da vida foi marcado pela
toxoplasmose. Foi desenvolvido um estudo de casos múltiplos cujas participantes foram três
mães de crianças que tiveram toxoplasmose gestacional ou pós-natal, que responderam a
entrevistas semiestruturadas, realizadas em dois encontros com um intervalo de três anos entre
eles. As informações foram analisadas por meio da estratégia geral baseada nas proposições
teóricas, e a técnica analítica específica foi a construção da explanação. Os resultados indicaram
que a vivência da toxoplasmose no início da vida pode complexificar o cotidiano das díades,
que precisam adequar-se às demandas da maternidade e às da doença, como frequentes
consultas, exames e tratamentos. Apesar das adversidades impostas pelo adoecimento, a
vinculação mãe-bebê foi bem-sucedida nos três casos, de modo que a toxoplasmose não
impediu o bom relacionamento entre as mães e seus filhos. No entanto, identificou-se a presença
de dificuldades no processo de desadaptação gradual das mães com seus filhos, especialmente
quando se manifestaram intercorrências orgânicas. Conclui-se acerca da importância do estudo
no sentido de ampliar o conhecimento acerca da temática, a fim de fornecer subsídios para os
profissionais da saúde, de modo a melhor compreenderem e estarem instrumentalizados para
oferecer um amparo adequado ao processo vivenciado por essas mães.
