O papel do círculo familiar e os riscos da infantilização de filho com Síndrome de Down
Abstract
O trato da família perante o filho com Síndrome de Down é fator decisivo para seu o desenvolvimento. Quando esse indivíduo é visto como alguém incapaz e não lhe é dada a oportunidade de desenvolver suas habilidades, se torna dependente de outros para realizar mesmo as tarefas mais simples. Este estudo buscou discutir com base na literatura sobre a importância do acesso à informação de qualidade para o círculo familiar de pessoas com a Síndrome de Down, reunindo trabalhos que citam temas como infantilização e círculo familiar. Também procurou relatar momentos vividos dentro de uma escola com indivíduos que tiveram diferentes experiências com relação à sua criação e como isso os levou a grandes diferenças na sua formação bio-psico-social. Dada a relevância do tema, mais estudos devem ser realizados a fim de dar luz às nuances da questão, buscando encontrar novos caminhos que colaborem na construção social dos indivíduos com diagnóstico de Síndrome de Down.
