Fatores que influenciam a hipertensão diagnosticada em motoristas e cobradores de uma empresa do transporte coletivo urbano de Santa Maria, RS
Abstract
A hipertensão é uma das doenças mais perigosas existentes atualmente, pois por apresentar sintomas comuns a outras doenças, como: tontura, náuseas e dores de cabeça. Muitas vezes não é percebida e consequentemente não é tratada podendo ser letal. Entre janeiro de 2006 e dezembro de 2007, realizou-se um estudo com motoristas e cobradores da empresa de transporte coletivo urbano Expresso Medianeira de Santa Maria - RS. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar quais fatores associados à hipertensão se diferenciavam entre os hipertensos e monotensos, e de determinar a prevalência e os fatores de risco associados à hipertensão, obter um modelo logístico que descreva como as chances de ser hipertenso estão relacionadas com as variáveis investigadas. Foram estudados 79 colaboradores, observando-se uma prevalência de 11,4% de hipertensos, com Intervalo de Confiança (IC) de 95% (4,1% à 17,9%), sendo que entre os hipertensos 55% são motoristas. Ao término da pesquisa conclui-se que o peso dos hipertensos foi maior do que dos monotensos (p=0,02; IC: 82Kg-104Kg e 79Kg-85Kg respectivamente), também ocorrendo com o IMC, (p<0,01; IC: 27Kg/m²-34Kg/m² e 26Kg/m²-27Kg/m² respectivamente). Verificou-se diferença significativa entre os dois grupos nas variáveis pressão alta diagnosticada (p<0,01), ingestão de medicamento para controlar a pressão (p<0,01), triglicerídeos (p=0,04) e colesterol (p<0,01), que nos hipertensos estava acima do recomendado em 22,22% e nos monotensos esse percentual foi de apenas 1,43%. Pelo modelo logístico ajustado verificou-se que o único fator de risco relacionado à hipertensão foi o índice de massa corporal (IMC), (p<0,01). Portanto controlar o peso é a principal ação para se evitar a hipertensão arterial.
