Responsabilidade social: um estudo no Departamento Municipal de Água e Esgotos (DMAE) – do município de Porto Alegre

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the understanding of social responsibility of the internal public of the Municipal Department of Water and Sewage - DMAE of Porto Alegre-RS, highlighting the importance of public organization as a social articulator of social and environmental issues facing social responsibility and its social management. Audience verification took place according to theoretical underpinnings and through field research. The data collection allowed to evaluate the understanding and expectations of the theme social responsibility in public organizations and that social education is a determining factor for achieving these objectives. It was also verified that there is no greater clarity on the part of the collaborators regarding the social responsibility practiced by the institution, thus, there are opportunities for their involvement in these activities, since they show interest in participating in initiatives of this nature.
