Visita domiciliar ás pessoas com deficiência e suas famílias no contexto rural: desafios e possibilidades para profissionais de saúde da família.

Abstract

The Home Visit is an important instrument for the health care of the individual, family and community, especially of people with disabilities living in the rural context. This study aims to know the experiences of home visiting by family health team professionals in the rural context, in the care of people with disabilities and their families. This is a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach. It was developed in a municipality located in the northern region of Rio Grande do Sul State, which has 70% of rural population. The participants were the professionals who make up the four family health teams that serve the rural area of the city (doctor, nurse, nursing technician, community health agents and dentist). Data collection was performed through interviews, and from these it was possible to construct two categories: DV as a fundamental rural strategy for people with disabilities in the FHS and Challenges and potentialities of performing DV in the rural context. Home visiting proved to be a legitimate health care strategy for people with disabilities living in the rural context, breaking down barriers to access to health and promoting the insertion of users into the system.
