O corpo e a religião no período medieval

Abstract

The present article involves the search and the deepening of the critical view linked to the body and religiosity; body and soul; body and sin; female body and sexuality, especially in the medieval period. To this end, at first, it was developed through a bibliographic study, with some considerations about it, revealing that the human being and religion are surrounded by mysteries and partial truths that hide us from questions to be unveiled. Finally, questioning: what is the notion of body in the medieval period, how has it changed throughout history in the medieval period and its relationship with religion? Among other things, it allows us to reveal that the body and religion had an influence of thought and behavior, initiated in that period, and that, at the same time, they have been giving rise to new types of manifestations.
