Estresse ocupacional: um estudo de uma Universidade Pública Federal

Abstract

Occupational stress is becoming more and more frequent in people, the incidence of occupational diseases in the job market is gradually being studied in the scientific community. Because of these diseases, many people turn away to be treated, which raises concern about how the organizational environment is doing. Thus, the study aims to identify occupational stress in professors at UFSM campus Palmeira das Missões-RS. The study is exploratory and descriptive, comprising a research where research was carried out with one hundred and nine professors from the university. It was found that the majority of teachers who participated in the research are likely to have symptoms caused by occupational stress, it can also be seen that the vast majority consider themselves to be healthy mental health, which contributes to a better quality of life. Finally, it is clear that when dealing with a sensitive issue such as mental health, many are not comfortable talking about it. The study made it possible to see that there is an incidence of occupational diseases in the university's responding professors.
