dc.description.abstract | Agriculture modernization in Brazil has generated many social, economic and
cultural transformations for farmers and society in general. In this context, the
aviculture is in the vanguard, being one of the sectors most modernized and
technified. In studies about the rural space there is a debate about the
consequences of this definition for the field individuals. One group believes that
the modernization has transformed the peasants into professional farmers and
another group considers that peasants has manteined their identity and have
modernized in order to adapting to the context. The aim of this work was identify
which are the peasanty elements that remain existing in the social
characterization of the poultry creators linked to Integration System in Anta
Gorda/RS, despite his intense modernization. The analytical categories used for
the analisys were the notions of rupture and continuity proposed by Wanderley
(2003) and the concept of colono theorized by Tavares dos Santos (1978),
Tedesco (1999) and Seyferth (1993). It was discussed, for this, the operation of
integration system in the poultry and the complexities of the relationship
integrated X agribusiness. The conclusions we arrived were that modernization
has generated a set of breaks, among which stand the loss of autonomy typical
of the peasantry, the increasing of individualism, the weakening of institutions
like the church and the family and the farmer subordination of the industry. On
the other hand, there is a set of characteristics that keep reproducing according
to the tradition, even in the context of modernity: the centrality of the family as
the nucleus structuring of work and behavior in general, the valuation of the
community as an space for socialization, the use of venetian dialect and a
language specific, the practice of filó, among others. It was seen, finally, that the
colono incorporates the influences of modernity through its colono ethos and
reified by their habitus. It was seen, finally, that the colono incorporates the
influences of modernity from its colono ethos and reifies them according to his
habitus. | eng |

autonomia típica do campesinato, o crescimento do individualismo, o
prática do filó, dentre outras.
