A eficiência da governança pública: realidade das organizações públicas municipais

Abstract

The theme of this work is the efficiency of public governance, delimited by the study of the issue with the reality of municipal public organizations. The following problem was addressed: what is the importance of a more efficient governance for municipal public organizations nowadays? In order to overcome this issue, the general objective was to discuss the importance of efficient governance in today's municipal public organizations. The specific objectives, in turn, involve identifying the concepts, principles, and purposes of governance, focusing on the state's reality, discussing the reasons and consequences of the inefficiency of public organizations in the country, presenting the reality involving the principle of efficiency, and also weighing the relevance of efficient public governance with the reality of municipal public organizations. Methodological procedures established for the study involved exploratory research supported by bibliographic research and the deductive method. The conclusions are that the importance of more efficient governance in today's municipal public organizations stems from the fact that inefficient governance tends to significantly harm social interests. This happens because a more efficient governance with the Municipalities tends to open space for these institutions to ensure quality, longlasting municipal services that are, in fact, capable of meeting the population's needs. A more efficient governance with the municipal public organizations enables the optimization of financial and human resources, for the relentless pursuit of the quality of the work developed, as well as the effective supervision of the services provided by its collaborators.
