dc.description.abstract | The objective of the present work was to adjust hypsometric models for the species Eugenia rostrifolia D. Legrand, Eugenia verticillata (Vell.) Angely, Nectandra megapotamica (Spreng.) Mez and, Trichilia claussenii C. DC. in a remnant of Seasonal Deciduous Forest. Data were collected in the municipality of Frederico Westphalen, RS, on the UFSM/FW campus. To estimate the tree heights, 14 hypsometric models (h/d) were selected for fitting. As selection criteria for model fitting, the following statistical parameters were used: adjusted coefficient of determination (R²aj.), standard error of the estimation in percentage (Syx%), coefficient of variation (CV%), calculated Fischer's F value from ANOVA (analysis of variance) and graphical analysis of the dispersion of residues. After analyzing the criteria, the third power model was the one that best estimated the heights for the four species. The fitted models were for Eugenia rostrifolia: h = -3.91065 + 2.01884.d – 0.07579.d² + 0.00097.d³; featuring R²aj. of 0.7288; Syx% of 23.89; F of 19.36 and 10.93% CV. for the species Eugenia verticillata: h = 16.11154 – 4.47873.d + 0.50591.d² - 0.01317.d³; with R²aj. of 0.6324; Syx% of 39.93, F of 30.82 and 29.08% CV; for Nectandra megapotamica: h = 1.83415 + 0.80255.d – 0.01291.d² + 0.00007.d³, with R²aj. of 0.6068; standard error of the estimate of 30.8; F of 20.59 and CV of 25.06%; and for the species Trichilia claussenii the model was represented by: h = -2.79144 + 2.06781.d – 0.11027.d² + 0.00211.d³ with R²aj. of 0.4972 and standard error of the estimate of 26.33; F of 30.67 and 13.79% coefficient of variation. | eng |

dc.description.resumo | O objetivo do presente trabalho foi de ajustar modelos hipsométricos para as espécies Eugenia rostrifolia D. Legrand, Eugenia verticillata (Vell.) Angely, Nectandra megapotamica (Spreng.)
