| dc.description.abstract | This work consists of an analysis of the main characters of Bichos (1940), a collection of short
stories by the Portuguese writer Miguel Torga (1907-1995). The analysis focuses on the
attribution to animals of feelings or actions characteristic of human beings. The humanization
of some of them corresponds symmetrically to the loss of humanity in others. Four short
stories were chosen as representative of these aspects: "Bambo", "Vicente", "Ramiro" and
"Jesus”. In this universe, Jesus is a unique character, at the same time human and divine. | eng |

| dc.description.resumo | Este trabalho consiste na análise das personagens protagonistas de Bichos (1940), do escritor
português Miguel Torga (1907-1995). Constata-se nas narrativas a quebra de expectativa
correspondente aos procedimentos e sentimentos atribuídos a seres humanos e animais. A
humanização de uns corresponde simetricamente à perda da humanidade em outros. Como
exemplo desse processo, foram selecionados quatro contos: “Bambo”, “Vicente”, “Ramiro” e
“Jesus”. Nesse universo, Jesus é uma personagem única, tanto humana quanto divina. | por |
