Radar: a participação da TVE - RS no cenário musical independente gaúcho

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of TVE-RS’s role, through the show Radar, in helping the construction of the gaúcho independente musical scene and its role as a public station and as cultural journalism. Through the Content Analysis, we investigated the editions exhibited in june, july and august of 2016, and that were made available in the internet, to, through the indicators chosen in the pre-analysis, identify how Radar works with the gaúcho independent musical scene. Amongst the results, we point to the fact that Radar finds its limitations especially with the matters of geography, because most of the invited bands are from Porto Alegre and nearby cities. In regards to the interviews we find it in need of deepening, since it focus mostly around the tour dates and promoting the events in which the guests participate. However, Radar itself is still an important space in the gaúcho scene, having built a loyal public, not only amongst the telespectators as well with the musicians themselves, exactly because it is one of the few television shows, amongst public and private stations, to give any space to independent production and allows the divulgation of their work.
