dc.description.abstract | During the human aging process, women suffer from falling estrogen levels, triggering cardiovascular disease (CVD), a leading cause of death among women over 45 years of age. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the influence of physical conditioning on the endothelial function of women with estrogen deficiency. The study included women aged 32-63 divided into two groups, NE (normal estrogen): n = 11 and ED (estrogen deficiency): n = 11; Both submitted to measurements of peripheral arterial tonometry (PAT), using the Endo-PAT and then blood collection to quantify, IL-1, IL-6, IL-10, TNFa and ET1. VO2max (maximal oxygen uptake) was measured by the modified Bruce protocol and lower limb strength by the 1RM test (a maximal repetition). Only the ED group underwent a combined training program, performed (03) three times a week for (12) twelve weeks. Our results show that the twelve weeks of training were sufficient to reduce IL-1, IL-6, TNFa, ET 1 and IL-10 in the ED group, but these variables maintained the same statistical behavior in relation to the NE group at the previous moment. Even so, the values of endothelial function after the intervention were higher than those of the NE group. These results may be explained by improvements in the fitness of ED group. | eng |
