O perfil do arquivista mestre em Patrimônio Cultural formado na UFSM

Abstract

This research has as general objective to know the profile of the professional archivist, master in Cultural Heritage graduated in both courses by the Center for Social and Human Sciences of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), as well as to analyze their academic productions with the cut 10 years since the beginning of the master’s degree, (2010 to 2019). One of the three specific objectives of the research is to find out where the master professionals who completed these courses at UFSM are working today. The idea is to understand what motivated them to pursue a master's degree at the Institution, as well as to recognize their interest in their research topics. The project presents a theoretical approach around the issues involving the archivist and science, and the archivist and the production of knowledge. As methodological procedures, this research is classified as descriptive with a qualitative and quantitative approach, characterized by gathering information through interviews and / or questionnaires and their results in addition to bibliographic research. The interest in this research arose out of the curiosity to know what is produced by archivists in the area of Cultural Heritage of the Federal University of Santa Maria and, thus, to prepare myself better to carry out a master's degree. As one of the main results, it was found that what most motivated the masters to carry out the Masters were their interests in research and the increase in their monthly income. The majority today work as an Archivist in the market and the minority, just under a third of the total, as professors at Federal Public Universities. The most searched topics of your dissertations were on documentary heritage and photographic collections.
