Criação de um ambiente de estudo baseado no simulador de redes NS-2
Abstract
Compreender o funcionamento de uma rede de computadores e realizar estudos de avaliação baseados em experimentos reais podem ser atividades de grande complexidade e alto custo. Por esse motivo, simulação é uma técnica utilizada com muita frequência, devido sua flexibilidade para testar cenários variados. Por exemplo, pode-se testar o comportamento de protocolos e novas tecnologias bem como o efeito de diferentes tipologias. O estudo de protocolos sob condições variadas é um elemento importante para compreender o seu comportamento e suas características. Em sala de aula, a compreensão dos conceitos pode ser auxiliada por simuladores. Através da simulação é possível avaliar protocolos de rede sobre uma grande variedade de condições, o que permite distinguir o benefício de cada tecnologia estudada. Neste trabalho, discute-se a criação de estudo de comunicação de dados baseado no Network Simulator-NS-versão 2, um simulador que permite avaliar os diversos aspectos que compõem uma rede complexa, e no Asterix, um laboratório virtual de auxílio ao processo e aprendizagem da disciplina de redes de computadores.
