dc.description.abstract | The work in different dimensions of social life, is one of the issues addressed by the Feminist
Economics. In this area, there is debate about the different roles played by men and women;
discrimination against women in the labor market; the gender issues; economic policies and their
distinct impacts on gender. Considering the relevance of these topics, the present study seeks to
analyze the representativeness of women's work in family agriculture based on accounts of six
producers linked to the Ana Primavesi Fair, from the city of Santa Maria, RS. Through a qualitative
descriptive approach, a case study of the producers is developed. For data collection, a semistructured script was used in order to support the interviews that took place via telephone call.
Moreover, data provided by market traders, research institutes, among others was analyzed, to
contextualize the importance of family agriculture. In short, the work of the market traders
guarantees the livelihood of their families and, in their perspectives, despite the greater appreciation
of male work, they feel recognized. Therefore, they consider work as a mean of conquering spaces
and self-knowledge. In summary, it is concluded that the exercise of female work in the agricultural
sector is significant from a social, economic and political point of view. | eng |

Considerando a relevância desses
