O fundamento metafísico da ética na obra de Arthur Schopenhauer

Abstract

The metaphysical foundation of Ethics (based on the notion of Will as One Essence of the World), in the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer, is the main object of this work. The text describes and analyzes, in addition to important points of the Ethics presented in “The World as Will and Representation” (and in other relevant works of the philosopher), as Arthur Schopenhauer bases Moral Philosophy in his Immanent Metaphysics that includes a Theory of Knowledge ( of Transcendental Idealist inspiration), methodically fitting Ethics into its organic philosophical system (which explores the limits of human understanding, without giving up experience in the midst of Nature, in contact with the phenomenal world, highlighting intuition). We will see how the philosopher built the foundations of his Metaphysics (pillar of his system), highlighting how Ethics is intimately connected to the affirmation of the Unity of the Will as Essence (of which everything in the world is a manifestation, including the subject who perceives the world as representation).
