Análise da influência do uso de cortina verde no comportamento térmico em habitação de interesse social em Santa Maria, RS

Abstract

Numerous researches emphasize the use of vegetation as a thermal comfort strategy for buildings, as plants contribute to the humidification of the air and shading of surfaces, attenuating extremes of temperature. The goal of the research was to evaluate the influence of the use of a green curtain next to the facade of Social Interest Houses (HIS) in Bioclimatic Zone 2, on the thermal comfort and on the users' sense of well-being, for the period of summer. Green wisteria curtains were installed and monitored on the west façade (opaque and transparent closure) of five HIS, and a sixth object, without curtain, was chosen for comparison. Temperature measurements (air and surface), thermographic records and interviews on thermal comfort with users were carried out. It was proven that the choice of the type of green curtain and the species were adequate, presenting a low execution cost and satisfactory development. The periods analyzed showed differences in indoor air temperature of up to 0.83°C (summer), 8.6°C (typical week) and 3.68°C (typical day) in relation to the object without the curtain. The internal surface temperature showed a maximum difference of 9.3°C in relation to the object without the curtain. The wisteria curtain proved to be an important strategy to enhance the feeling of wellbeing in HIS users.
