Sistema de geo-localização das unidades administrativas da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria

Abstract

This study introduces a system of geo-location for search by the administrative units from Federal University of Santa Maria, which availability to the users of fast and visual forms the information in its territory space. To develop this research, which was on the Web, technologies inspired on free software were used, like Apache web server, PostgreSQL data base, CartoWeb , and others. The system allows to consult through the name of the unit, obtaining the visualization of the localization over a satellite image on the high resolution of the campus. Another possibility of search is through the image, directly getting the relation of units that meet on the region of interest. In this way the user can obtain information as address and telephone from the centers, departments and officies the courses from the University faster and easier.
