Relação entre desempenho financeiro e esportivo dos clubes de futebol brasileiros
Abstract
O futebol, além de mundialmente praticado, movimenta altos níveis de recursos, aumentando a necessidade por informações financeiras das entidades. A partir da Lei n. 13.155/15, que regulamenta práticas de responsabilidade dessas entidades, surgem obrigações quanto a publicação de demonstrações contábeis. Ainda assim, percebe-se carência de pesquisas econômicas aliada ao futebol brasileiro, motivando este estudo. Nessa perspectiva, a pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar relações entre os indicadores de desempenho esportivo e financeiro dos clubes de futebol brasileiros. A amostra é composta pelos 20 clubes participantes da Série A do Campeonato Brasileiro 2016, utilizando dados de 2011 a 2015, com abordagem quantitativa. Para atingir os objetivos da pesquisa, foram utilizadas as técnicas de análise descritiva e de correlação. Os resultados apontam as variáveis de cunho financeiro que apresentam correlações estatisticamente significativas com a posição no ranking da CBF: receita por pontos disputados, receita por jogadores, porcentagem do intangível e porte, sendo esta a mais forte relação encontrada, indicando que o tamanho do clube é o fator que está mais ligado a uma boa colocação no ranking. Por outro lado, a conquista de pontos em jogos disputados não apresentou correlação significativa com as variáveis financeiras. Desta forma, permite concluir que os clubes apresentam melhores resultados financeiros quando o foco esportivo está vinculado à posição comparativa, e não por buscar o máximo desempenho possível. O trabalho contribui no sentido de ampliar as discussões sobre futebol e finanças, com proposição de novos indicadores de desempenho, e recomendações à gestão de clubes.
