dc.description.abstract | The present work is inserted in the Political Science area in the Classical
Political Theory, and it aims to achieve a study about the platonic political thought in
the Republic. This conceptual- historical research was achieved based on a
specialized literature review. The objective of understanding Plato’s political thought
in the Republic indicated a specific aim: to introduce the manner as the philosopher
thought the relation between the philosophy and the policy, as well as, the
entailments that were done by him between the wisdom and policy or between the
science and the government. The relation between the knowledge and the policy is in
this study described in a synthesized exposure as the main motivation in Plato. If, in
a general manner, there was in ancient Greece that started the development of what
nowadays is policy, there was a huge measure- Plato’s thought that has preserved
the philosophical reflection of the Greek policy. As a result of his labor nowadays it is
common to find in philosophy handbooks, also in philosophy dictionaries, attributions
done to Plato that confer himself the title of inaugurator of the occidental social
thought or really the founder of the first social- political systematization of rational
character. | eng |
