dc.description.abstract | The entry of students into the graduation is surrounded by moments of conflict and
adversity, which generates feelings of uncertainty and apprehension about the future,
which can impact the learning process. In view of this, the objective was to analyze the
relationship between anxiety symptoms (state and trait) in the motivation to learn of
future accountants. The methodology is classified as quantitative, descriptive and
survey. The sample consisted of 181 students from the accounting course at the
Federal University of Santa Maria. The data were obtained through a questionnaire
and data analysis adopted: descriptive statistics, reliability, normality, correlation,
regression, and structural equation modeling. The results showed that most college
students have moderate levels of state-anxiety (SA) and trait-anxiety (TA), as well as
motivation to learn (ML). Still, in the correlation it was verified that there is an inverse
relation between the motivation to learn and the dimensions of anxiety. In addition, it
was noticed that, through regression, the AE is significant for the AM, negatively
influencing the motivation. Then, through modeling, it was supported that TA is a
negative determinant for MA. Thus, it is concluded that both state-anxiety (regression)
and trait-anxiety (modeling) have a negative impact on motivation to learn. The main
contribution of the study is of a practical nature and refers to a warning sign regarding
the care for the mental health of future accountants throughout their training, so that
higher education institutions seek measures that address this disorder in students. | eng |

A amostra
discentes. | por |
