Centro de Acolhimento e Reabilitação Animal: implementação de terapia assistida por animais em Cachoeira do Sul

Abstract

This research presents the basic concept for the development of a Homeless Animal Rehabilitation and Reception Center and the implementation of Animal Assisted Therapy in the city of Cachoeira do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. animals that live on the streets or are mistreated a new chance of life and to be better seen by society, and also the increased inclusion of people with special needs in public spaces, of all those who seek more humane alternatives than conventional treatments. During this monograph, the relationships between humans and animals throughout history were studied, Animal-Assisted Therapy, its applicability and its benefits, in addition to studying how architecture can contribute to animal welfare and to Animal-Assisted Therapy Animals. As a result, it was possible to determine conditions in the Municipality of Cachoeira do Sul that helped to define the most suitable deployment area for the project's needs, as well as the basic premises for serving different and specific audiences, especially children, young people, adults and the animals themselves. Such understandings, relevant to the first stage of the work, will support the conception and development of the architectural project to be carried out.
