Fitoenergética: uma proposta holística na saúde dos idosos

Abstract

Traditional and Complementary Medicine has been stimulated for decades by the World Health Organization in its member countries with the collective interest of stimulating health practices that can go beyond the existing conventional ones. In Brazil, Integrative and Complementary Health Practices are widely recognized and serve as treatments combined with conventional medicine in a predominant biomedical system. With lack of resources, difficulties in accessing health services and population aging, integrative therapies such as Phytoenergetics and Phytotherapy need to be considered. Phytoenergetics is a natural healing system that uses the energy power of plants to balance the body in maintaining health. The aim of the study was to carry out a narrative review of the scientific production on Phytoenergetics and Phytotherapy in relation to the benefits of integrative and complementary practices in gerontology. A search was carried out in the MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS and Virtual Health Library databases in the PICS, with the keywords Phytoenergetics, phytotherapy and the elderly from August 2021 to June 2023. In conclusion, answering What is the scientific production on Phytoenergetics and Phytotherapy in Gerontology? It was verified the lack of scientific production in relation to Phytoenergetics.
