Abstract

The labor geography provides an approach to analyze the quality of life of individuals who depend on work in contemporary times. This study's central objective is to examine labor relations in the urban area of Carazinho-RS, seeking to establish parameters related to the quality of life of the active population.The methodology uses the direct collection of primary data from the target population, complemented by secondary data from research and statistical institutions and bodies. The analyzes covered qualitative and quantitative methods, aiming to deepen the understanding of the work dynamics that configure geographic space. The results of the research in Carazinho-RS reveal a comprehensive perspective of labor dynamics in the region, highlighting the inversions in average salaries in relation to the national trend, the centrality of work activities in the Center and the predominance of the service sector, together with stability in occupational functions. The analysis also included travel patterns and sleeping conditions, highlighting the perspectives of urban workers, in addition to the need to review reward practices. In summary, this study plays a crucial role in providing a detailed analysis of labor relations in small urban areas, offering valuable insights that enrich our understanding of the topic. The importance of a contextualized and critical approach to understanding the complex dynamics of labor relations in specific contexts is highlighted, reinforcing the need for local strategies and policies that effectively align with the identified particularities.
