Medicalização da vida: a compreensão de professores e educadores especiais de Santa Maria sobre o processo que leva a medicalização na infância
Abstract
O presente estudo se refere ao processo crescente de medicalização da vida cotidiana e suas expressões contemporâneas no campo da educação escolar, bem como os fatores que levam a identificação por profissionais da educação dos sintomas de doenças e transtornos infantis, em um município no interior do RS. Com esse estudo busca-se estreitar a relação entre Saúde e Educação por meio de articulações intersetorias nos territórios e uma maior compreensão desses profissionais que atuam diretamente com crianças e adolescentes sobre os aspectos da medicalização e de como se configura a rede de atenção em saúde mental da infância e adolescência de acordo com o que é estabelecido pelas Políticas Públicas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa com proposta qualitativa, guiada pelo referencial da hermenêutica, onde foi utilizado como instrumento para coleta de informações a realização de grupo focal com professores e educadores especiais de Escolas públicas municipais. Teve como principais resultados a compreensão dos educadores sobre os processos da medicalização na infância, e sua relação com o sentimento de fracasso de professores, familiares e alunos. O que demonstra que o processo de aprendizagem é multideterminado e depende de vários fatores. É necessário olhar para os determinantes sociais sobre a educação, saúde, bem-estar e a inclusão de alunos e professores para uma possível mudança na realidade promovendo a participação da escola na comunidade. Através dos resultados obtidos espera-se criar condições para a discussão de políticas públicas voltadas ao enfrentamento desenfreado da medicalização das crianças e promover uma visão crítica em relação aos processos pedagógicos, tensionando na prevenção dos aspectos considerados como sintomas de transtornos da aprendizagem, através de processos que levem a uma melhor formação de professores e profissionais da saúde que lidam direta e indiretamente com encaminhamentos e diagnósticos das crianças.
