Análise energética e econômica do potencial de geração de energia elétrica do biogás proveniente da vinhaça: estudo de caso
Abstract
A indústria sucroenergética é marcada pela grande geração de resíduos que podem
ser utilizados como fontes limpas e renováveis de energia. A vinhaça, principal resíduo
da produção de álcool, possui em sua composição características altamente nutritivas,
e ao mesmo tempo, poluentes. Por meio do processo de biodigestão anaeróbia é
possível diminuir estas características poluentes e concomitantemente, obter um
biogás rico em metano, com alto potencial energético. Apesar da atual crise no setor
sucroenergético, onde diversas usinas sofrem com enormes dívidas financeiras, o
investimento nessa tecnologia pode vir a reestruturar o setor em decorrência dos
ganhos econômicos. Para auxiliar o investimento, a iniciativa deve estar vinculada aos
incentivos e políticas públicas, pois o setor é de suma importância em três segmentos
para o Brasil: ambiental, social e econômico. Este trabalho faz a avaliação da
implantação desta tecnologia em uma usina sucroenergética da região de Dourados,
no estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Através da análise energética, constatou-se que a
usina em questão é capaz de gerar 26% de toda a energia elétrica consumida, por
meio do aproveitamento do biogás da vinhaça. A análise econômica confirma a
viabilidade do projeto, resultando em um retorno positivo para comercialização de
energia elétrica, mesmo com a grande instabilidade do mercado no último ano, e os
altos tributos incididos na venda. Uma segunda análise é realizada com a isenção de
ICMS, resultando em um retorno quase quatro vezes maior, considerando o valor
médio de mercado. Assim, reforça-se a importância de incentivos governamentais
para o aproveitamento eficiente de energia na indústria sucroenergética.
