Abstract
Este artigo aborda o desenvolvimento de um sistema cuja principal
função é o auxiliar os profissionais da área da saúde no diagnóstico da
diabetes, utilizando a capacidade de aprendizagem das Redes Neurais
Artificiais (RNAs). Foram utilizadas duas RNAs, cujo treinamento é realizado
por meio da base de dados Pima Indians. Esta base de dados contém as
informações referentes a uma comunidade indígena que é conhecida por
apresentar a maior taxa de incidência de diabetes no mundo. As RNAs
possuem objetivos diferentes, sendo que uma foi treinada para a busca de
casos normais e a outra para diagnosticar casos de diabetes.
