Gestão escolar indígena no Tocantins: estudos introdutórios
Abstract
O trabalho de pesquisa documental aborda a gestão educacional no contexto da educação escolar indígena e seus pressupostos legais vigentes, elucidando como se dá o processo de gestão educacional indígena na Escola CEMIX-WARÃ em Tocantínia–Tocantins. Contextualizou-se a trajetória histórica da etnia Xerente, seu primeiro contato com os não índios até a implantação da escola em seus territórios. A metodologia utilizada para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foi uma pesquisa documental sobre a temática e um estudo de caso da escola. Este estudo mostra-se relevante devido ao fato de existir poucos trabalhos voltados para a gestão da educação escolar indígena. A legislação vigente no campo educacional apregoa novos rumos para a educação escolar indígena, objetivando a construção de processos educativos baseados na interculturalidade, na especificidade, no ensino bilíngue, e na cultura própria de cada etnia indígena. A educação escolar indígena deve ser diferenciada, no entanto percebe-se que esta ainda é uma realidade distante das escolas, pois a educação ainda é pensada como forma de imposição de valores e incorporação dos indígenas à sociedade capitalista. Os resultados percebidos até o momento demonstram que a gestão escolar da Escola CEMIX-WARÃ, não difere de outras escolas em suas realidades, necessidades e dificuldades. Na esfera pedagógica, os desafios centram-se na construção e efetivação de um projeto pedagógico diferenciado que articule os saberes da comunidade Xerente com os conhecimentos necessários para viver num mundo globalizado. Embora existam muitos desafios, a escola demonstra que está em processo de construção, buscando a efetivação da escola que queremos.
