Assistência terciária aos pacientes com câncer de mama pertencentes à rede de atenção oncológica da 4° Coordenadoria Regional de Saúde/RS: estudo descritivo
Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the care flow and time elapsed between the diagnosis and the first treatment in the high complexity service of breast cancer patients belonging to the cancer care network of the 4th Regional Health Coordination of Rio Grande do Sul (4 ° CRS / RS). This is an epidemiological, observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study. We included 168 cases of breast cancer, diagnosed in 2016 and referenced to the Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria (HUSM), by the municipalities belonging to 4a CRS / RS. The data were extracted from the Hospital Registry of Cancer Information System (SisRHC), provided by the HUSM Hemato-Oncology Secretariat. From the data collected in this study, we evaluated: time elapsed between the diagnosis and the first consultation in HUSM; time elapsed between the diagnosis and the beginning of the first treatment for cancer in the different Health Regions of the 4th CRS / RS; most frequent initial treatment modality; and flow of patient care in the hospital service. The municipality with the highest prevalence of the disease in the analyzed period was Santa Maria, followed by São Sepé. These municipalities belong to the second Health Region of the 4th CRS / RS - Verdes Campos Region, which presented the highest frequency of breast cancer cases in relation to the Entre Rios region. The median time between diagnosis and initiation of treatment was 53 days. Regarding the users' access to the high complexity oncology service in the 4 th CRS, this occurred mainly through the Mastology specialty, with subsequent referral mainly to the cancerology / oncology specialty. Regarding the initial treatment modality, chemotherapy was the most frequent, followed by mastectomy. The majority of patients received treatment within the period stipulated in Law 12.732, of November 2012, which determines a maximum period of 60 days to start treatment, after definitive diagnosis.
