A gestão educacional numa escola da periferia urbana de Santa Maria/RS: a infância em situação de vulnerabilidade social
Abstract
Este trabalho propoe-se a identificar e analisar as concepções que possuem
professores dos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola situada na
região oeste de Santa Maria (RS) acerca da infância em situação de
vulnerabilidade social, investigando suas possíveis repercussões na gestão
educacional. A fundamentação teórica desta pesquisa está referenciada pela
pelas contribuições de Lück (2006) e Ferreira (2001) no campo da Gestão
Educacional, pelos estudos de Áries (1981), Pinheiro (2006) e Corazza (2004)
quanto à história da infância, e no conceito mais amplo de vulnerabilidade social
no qual se destacam as idéias de Mesquita & Sierra (2006). A abordagem
metodológica é de caráter qualitativo, constituindo-se em estudo de caso que
utilizou como instrumento de coleta de dados pesquisa bibliográfica e entrevistas
semi-estruturadas. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam que as concepções acerca
da infância em situação de vulnerabilidade social não consideram as relações
estabelecidas no interior da escola como elementos que reproduzem a
vulnerabilidade social ao invés de combate-la. Constatou-se que o conceito de
vulnerabilidade social é associado a fatores considerados alheios à escola, e que
a concepção idílica da infância não confere à criança o status de cidadania para o
presente, mas para um futuro que cabe a escola preparar. Entretanto, os
professores não atribuem a si mesmos o lugar da participação, sendo que a
gestão ainda não superou completamente a centralização e a hierarquia
existentes no paradigma da administração escolar, nem tão pouco as concepções
acerca da infância como objeto de proteção assistencialista, de controle e
disciplina ou de repressão social, para substituí-lo pelo de sujeito de direitos que
pode consolidar-se no ambiente escolar a partir de práticas de gestão
participativa.
