Deficiência intelectual e vida adulta: possibilidades e desafios de uma inclusão social
Abstract
O presente estudo apresenta a pesquisa de campo realizada em uma Instituição
especial de ensino de Santa Maria/RS, com quatro jovens adultos e dois professores
de Educação Especial, um estudo de abordagem qualitativa acompanhado de
entrevistas semi-estruturada como instrumento, sendo elaborados dois roteiros de
entrevistas, sendo uma para as profissionais e outra para os alunos. Como isso,
objetivou-se conhecer o entendimento dos participantes e como se dá a mudança para
vida adulta de jovens com deficiência intelectual, conhecer suas expectativas quanto
à inserção ao mercado de trabalho e como os profissionais da instituição estão os
preparando para essa fase. O apoio da família é fundamental para que os jovens
obtenham autonomia e conhecimentos suficientes buscar de uma vaga no mercado
de trabalho, conquistando assim seu espaço na sociedade e adquirindo sua
independência. Assim como a família é peça principal para este avanço na autonomia,
cabe aos profissionais manter e embasar este suporte, frisando suas potencialidades
no convívio social. Contudo, destaca-se que família e a instituição de ensino são,
juntas, peças fundamentais para o desenvolvimento da autonomia e tudo que envolve
a caminhada para a vida adulta dos jovens com Deficiência Intelectual. A instituição
por sua vez deve orientar seus alunos a inserirem-se no mercado de trabalho, os
preparando par isso com autonomia e deixando-os seguros de seus potenciais. O
mercado de trabalho é o suporte de garantirem a sua independência e dignidade na
sociedade.
