A aprendizagem do sistema braille por pessoas com cegueira adquirida
Abstract
Este trabalho procurou reconhecer as formas de aprendizagem e os efeitos do Sistema Braille na
Socialização das pessoas com cegueira adquirida. Como referencial teórico são citados: Vygotsky
(1989), Kovács (1997), Silva,(2004), Defendi (2011), Sá (2014), entre outros. A pesquisa traz um breve
histórico da pessoa com deficiência visual ao longo do tempo, as definições de deficiência visual, assim
como as causas da perda da visão na idade adulta. É salientada a contribuição de Louis Braille ao
desenvolver o sistema de leitura e escrita Braille, um dos grandes avanços para o desenvolvimento da
pessoa cega, possibilitando maior acesso à cultura e ao seu meio social. O objetivo geral deste estudo
é conhecer as contribuições do Sistema Braille para a autonomia, independência e inclusão social da
pessoa cega adulta. Esta pesquisa é de cunho qualitativo, tendo como método o estudo de caso. As
informações foram coletadas, a partir de um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada que foi respondido
por três adultos com cegueira adquirida, destes, uma frequenta uma Instituição de Santa Maria. Após
a análise dos dados, conclui-se que há contribuições do Sistema Braille, já que os motivos que levaram
os participantes à aprendizagem foi a inserção no mundo das pessoas com deficiência visual. Portanto,
destaca-se que é um recurso muito significativo para a pessoa cega, sendo muito importante na
inclusão social.
