Evasão e repetência: desafios para a gestão escolar
Abstract
O presente trabalho objetivou verificar índices de evasão e repetência que
caracterizam o fracasso escolar, comparando-os com índices do RS e Brasil. A
coleta de informações foi realizada a partir de uma análise descritiva das Atas finais
da Secretaria de uma Escola do período de 2001 a 2010, dos dados extraídos do
INEP, Censo Escolar, e análise de questionários respondidos pela Direção,
Coordenação Pedagógica, Professores, Pais, Alunos evadidos e reprovados.
Percebeu-se que os índices de evasão e repetência na Escola estudada foram
menores e os índices de aprovação foram maiores comparando-os aos índices
estadual e nacional. Destaca-se que os índices no estado do RS e no país foram
muito elevados e estão distantes do conceito de uma educação de qualidade para
todos. As principais causas da evasão e repetência escolar na escola estudada
foram à necessidade de trabalhar para auxiliar no sustento da família, questões
sócio-econômicas, a desestruturação familiar, além da falta de perspectivas para
vencer através do estudo na sociedade competitiva, em que se percebe que apenas
os melhores currículos ficam com as melhores vagas. Os resultados devem ser
interpretados de maneira cuidadosa por referirem-se a uma realidade específica, e
também pela baixa amostra. Reforça-se a necessidade da problemática da evasão e
repetência escolar ser discutida pela sociedade como um todo para um
planejamento de ações envolvendo diferentes esferas e segmentos.
