Efeitos de um teste incremental de caminhada na marcha de indivíduos com doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica
Abstract
Doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica (DPOC) é uma das principais causas de morbidade crônica e mortalidade no mundo, sendo prevenível e tratável. É caracterizada pela limitação do fluxo aéreo apresentando também efeitos extra-pulmonares que podem agravar a sintomatologia da doença. A sensação de dispnéia, principal sintoma referido, ocorre especialmente na realização de atividades que exigem maior esforço. Existem evidências de que a DPOC acarreta prejuízos na musculatura periférica, sendo que a redução de força muscular, predominantemente nos membros inferiores, pode ser consequência do descondicionamento físico decorrente da falta de exercício em virtude da sensação de dispnéia. A marcha é uma das mais importantes atividades realizadas pelo homem e cada pessoa a executa de uma maneira única, estabelecida por estruturas neurológicas complexas e sincronizadas que permitem uma marcha sem esforço. Existe uma estreita relação entre a manutenção da capacidade de marcha e o nível de independência funcional sendo que a análise da marcha fornece dados para a compreensão do mecanismo fisiopatológico e direcionamento do tratamento de pacientes com distúrbios de locomoção. Desta forma, adquirir mais conhecimento sobre as características da marcha do indivíduo com DPOC torna possível desenvolver estratégias para a reabilitação desses pacientes, visando à manutenção da autonomia e preservação da independência. O objetivo deste estudo é analisar os efeitos de um teste incremental de caminhada no padrão da marcha e parâmetros cardiorrespiratórios de indivíduos com doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica.
