Recuperação anestésica em equinos, assistida e auxiliada por três pontos
Abstract
Conhecendo os riscos e complicações existentes na recuperação anestésica de equinos, e as
dificuldades de acesso aos métodos de recuperação mais modernos, criamos uma metodologia
própria através da união de alguns métodos já existentes. Objetivou-se validar um método de
recuperação anestésica com auxílio em três pontos. Foram avaliadas 83 recuperações
anestésicas em equinos, todas realizadas em sala própria para indução e recuperação
anestésica, com argolas fixadas a 2,25m de altura em cada parede lateral. Os equinos
anestesiados foram distribuídos em cinco grupos de acordo com o procedimento cirúrgico e
tipo de anestesia da seguinte forma: um grupo de anestesia intravenosa total (n=16) e quatro
grupos de anestesia inalatória subdivididos em grupo de cirurgias abdominais (n=18), de
artroscopias (n=17), demais cirurgias ortopédicas (n=18) e grupo de cirurgias mistas (n=18).
Era colocado nos cavalos um buçal sobre o protetor de cabeça e após amarrava-se uma corda
em cada lateral do buçal, cada corda era passada na argola lateral da parede respectiva e
segura pelo assistente através de uma janela. Outra corda era amarrada na cauda do animal e
segura por outro assistente através de uma segunda janela. Foram coletados alguns
parâmetros que podem influenciar o tempo de recuperação. Estes parâmetros foram
correlacionados e foi realizada análise estatística pelo método Kruskal-Wallis e realizado teste
de correlação (p<0,05). Nas 83 recuperações avaliadas houve oito recuperações com o tempo
superior a duas horas e três pacientes tiveram complicações: - um destes problemas sem
significância; uma luxação da articulação interfalangeana distal e um princípio de miopatia.
Na análise paramétrica houve diferença significativa (p<0,05) no tempo de recuperação entre
o grupo de cirurgias abdominais e os demais grupos. Somente no grupo de artroscopias houve
correlação positiva (p<0,05) entre os tempos: de anestesia, de deglutição, de estação e de
recuperação, nos demais grupos somente o tempo de anestesia não correlacionou. Pacientes
após cirurgias eletivas têm menores tempos de recuperação e geralmente melhor qualidade,
pacientes em situações emergenciais em média levam mais tempo para levantar, o que pode
não interferir na qualidade de recuperação, desde que este período não seja superior a duas
horas, o ideal é que após o término da anestesia a equipe que irá auxiliar o cavalo tenha a
sensibilidade de identificar quando e em que pacientes será necessário antecipar ou retardar o
período de recuperação em prol da qualidade. A metodologia utilizada mostra-se eficiente,
acessível a diferentes situações, de fácil aplicabilidade e que pode ser seguramente utilizada.
