Previsibilidade de preços do milho para a região Sul do Brasil
Abstract
O agronegócio brasileiro desempenhou um papel fundamental na
geração de divisas para o Brasil e no desenvolvimento da região Sul,
acompanhando uma grande evolução do mercado do cereal, tanto no âmbito
doméstico quanto internacional dos últimos anos. A inserção em um
ambiente globalizado impeliu os agentes econômicos de se adaptarem ao
ambiente de grande concorrência, fomentando a identificação e exploração
das vantagens competitivas.
Devido a grande importância que a cultura do milho traz para a
economia, tem-se como objetivo, no presente estudo, a análise do mercado
de commodity. Isso se fez através de modelos econométricos de séries
temporais, com desenvolvimento de modelos de previsão do preço pago ao
produtor de milho da região Sul do Brasil.
Em termos metodológicos, utilizando séries temporais de preços
praticados na região Sul do Brasil, principalmente do Estado do Paraná,
foram ajustados modelos ARIMA e SARIMA. Ambos modelos seguem as
modelagens propostas Box & Jenkins (1970), com resultados plenamente
satisfatórios e que proporcionam aos agentes de mercado, uma gama de
instrumentos auxiliares na redução das incertezas e minimização de
eventuais riscos.
