Abstract
Literatura e História sempre caminharam de mãos dadas. Este trabalho almeja refletir a obra literária como fonte para a pesquisa histórica. O Movimento da Legalidade e seu desdobramento como inspiração para as obras Mês de Cães Danados (1977), de Moacyr Scliar, e Pedro e Lia (1981), de Antônio Carlos Resende. A Legalidade, enquanto evento marcante para a história política brasileira contemporânea, serve de cenário para a criação literária, inspirando os autores a registrar uma época através de críticas aos rumos que a dinâmica social tomava, ou na representação de uma vivência humana na forma de personagens.
