Procedimento operacional padrão – Doença do Trato Urinário Inferior de Felinos (DTUIF)
Abstract
Doença do trato urinário inferior de felinos (DTUIF) é um termo usado para descrever qualquer desordem que possa acometer a uretra e a vesícula urinária dos gatos. Ela pode se caracterizar como cistite idiopática felina, obstrutiva ou não obstrutiva, se nenhuma causa for determinada. Do contrário, outras alterações podem estar presentes, como cálculos ou plugs uretrais, cistites bacterianas e neoplasias. O diagnóstico é baseado no histórico, anamnese e evolução dos sinais clínicos, juntamente com o exame físico especifico. Sentir a vesícula urinária aumentada e dor a palpação abdominal, são um forte indicio de obstrução. Os sinais clínicos vão desde os mais brandos, que incluem lamber o pênis, disúria, polaciúria, periúria, hematúria e estrangúria; esta última normalmente precede os casos mais graves que são as obstruções uretrais. Na forma mais grave de DTUIF o animal pode estar totalmente ou parcialmente obstruído e é considerada urgência. Dentre os sinais clínicos de DTUIF obstrutiva incluem-se intensa apatia, anorexia, vocalização, estrangúria, anúria e vômito em alguns casos. Exames de imagem (ultrassonografia abdominal e/ou radiografia abdominal) e exames laboratoriais que devem incluir hemograma, perfil bioquímico (níveis séricos de ureia e creatinina) e hemogasometria. Esta última avalia a necessidade de reposição de eletrólitos. O trabalho tem o objetivo de realizar o procedimento operacional padrão (POP) dos gatos que são atendidos no Hospital Veterinário da UFSM (HVU) que apresentam sintomatologia de DTUIF nas formas grave e não grave.
