Interrupção voluntária da gravidez: um estudo sobre a realidade brasileira
Abstract
Este trabalho de conclusão do curso de Pós-graduação em Pensamento Político Brasileiro apresenta uma breve análise a respeito do silêncio que vigora em relação à prática da interrupção voluntária da gravidez, buscando para o debate aspectos políticos e sócio-culturais. Além de um aparato bibliográfico sobre o tema, recorreu-se a dados em níveis nacional e local. Os dados nacionais estão vinculados ao Ministério da Saúde, e os dados locais se referem a um levantamento de dados realizado em março de 2004, na cidade de Santa Maria-RS. Essa coleta foi realizada em documentos de alguns hospitais locais e é referente ao percentual de curetagens por abortamento. A partir desses dados foi constatado um número significativo de internações hospitalares em decorrência de aborto, dos quais suspeita-se que cinqüenta por cento sejam induzidos. Destaca-se, então, a necessidade de criação de políticas públicas, porém salienta-se a grande dificuldade de viabilização desta proposta devido à existência de elementos de pressão contrários oriundos de nosso contexto social.
